Hoorah for Praise!

I felt so appreciated today! One of my residents on my hall is leaving me on Thursday. I'm going to be so sad to see her leave!!! She was one of my absolute favorites! She's just a sweetheart and it was a pleasure to see her improve on her health, and just making sure she was the most comfortable. She came up to me and said she needed to see me whenever I was available. I went to her room and she held my hand and said, "You have done so much for me. I really appreciate you and one of the person's I adore most." She gave me a box of chocolates and yes, I almost cried because she was just so sweet. I won't be able to see her leave but I just wish her the best! This is why I became a CNA. I love helping these residents improve their health and get them ready to go back home.

I leave for Seattle in two days... I still haven't packed or prepared anything yet. I'm gonna try and start tomorrow. I bought some luggage at Target, I've never owned any luggage before. I'm going to bring my crash pad of course, and just hope this trip goes smoothly... like no snow, etc. I'm crossing my fingers for this trip. My parents doesn't know that I'm going. Ah well. I'm excited though! This will be my first car trip with my friends.

My First Post

Ok, so it's 3:58am, and I can't sleep. I don't know if it was the computer shadow in my room, but I woke up freaked out because I thought the attic opening/door/cover was opened. I kept on thinking if one of my roommates moved the damn thing. I turned on my lamp, and nope, nothing. I freak myself out too much. Maybe it's because I watch too many scary movies or shows like "A Haunting." I don't know... Weird.

Work was ok tonight. The residents drive me nuts, but I put up with it. Some of them are so demanding, some of them are plain out gross sometimes, and some of them are just sweethearts. I don't really put down my last resident till about 9:30pm. It kind of sucks because I want to get everybody down my 9pm. Some of those residents are just so picky, but what can you do?

I'm really excited for this coming Friday. It's Molly and Amy Day! Molly's has this really cool camera, and she's going to take these artsy pics of me. It's going to be a birthday present from Molly to me. I have to go to Jen Derr's party too, because she's turning 21. It's going to be exciting!

Ok, I'm going to try and go to sleep again. Gah, I hate losing sleep.
